The former commander of the Polish ground forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, said that Kaliningrad has been an "occupied territory" since 1945. His words are quoted by the weekly Do Rzeczy.
According to Skshipchak, Warsaw should remember Kaliningrad and claim it, since these lands are part of Polish territory. At the same time, the general admitted that the Kaliningrad region "has no military significance."
In 2021, Waldemar Skshipchak described a possible scenario of military operations in the Kaliningrad region with the participation of NATO troops. He pointed out that in the event of an armed conflict in the region, the forces of the Baltic Fleet and the troops of the Kaliningrad Defensive Area will play a key role.
