The main topic of the talks to be held between the Russian authorities and US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland will be relations between Moscow and Washington. The main issue on the agenda of the upcoming meetings in Moscow was revealed by Nuland herself in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

China considers unacceptable US attempts to prevent gas supplies from Russia to Europe, as well as the desire to monopolize the energy market of the European Union. This was announced by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian, reports TASS.

The diplomat called the launch of the Russian Nord Stream-2 project mutually beneficial for the EU. In his opinion, gas supplies via the pipeline will help to resolve the difficult energy situation in the European Union.

Lijian pointed out that the United States is trying to use "all possible ways" to prevent the implementation of the project, acting against the interests of Russia and the EU. "The United States is guided solely by its own interests and is trying to politicize all relevant issues," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The diplomat accused Washington of pursuing its own geopolitical interests and noted that for their sake "the United States can attack even its allies and partners."
